Two Worlds

When I saw this view of the Adirondack High Peaks it was obvious that the weather up there was quite different from what I was experiencing in the lower elevations. It even seemed like a different season up in the peaks, almost as if it was a different world.

Canon 5D Mark III; 24-105mm.
1/125 sec. @ f/9; ISO 320

Wayne, the transition from lovely warm fall colors to the stormy peaks is great. Looks like a fine day to stay down low.

Beautiful fall colors. I agree, an interesting contrast between the bucolic foreground and the foreboding mountains. Something sinister awaits the unwary traveler into the mountains, as in "Lord of the Rings".

Great atmospherics accompanied by some gorgeous autumn color, Wayne. Beautifully done.

This is certainly a window to a different world than I see everyday. Love the fall colors and the passing storm up high. For some reason, and it could be my monitor, the foreground trees trees look slightly over sharpened. Regardless a super image, Wayne. :wavey:

What a beautiful autumn scene. Nice to not be up in that mess!

Lovely color, and love those mountains!
I wonder if it might also work to crop this so the mountains in the BG and the bright colors are each 50% of the image, or close to that. And maybe leave out the dark tree on the left? For me, the mountains make this special

Lovely color contrast between foreground and background. I would perhaps decrease the sharpness just a bit, especially in the bright trees.

Wayne, A wonderful fall scene with very pretty color. That really does appear like a different season up in the high peaks and I like the contrast it made with the foreground trees. The foreground trees do appear to be over sharpened on my monitor as well and maybe some compression adding to it too. A great looking scene captured it wonderful conditions!

Another of your trademark Adirondack images Wayne. Beautiful colors and a great back round. Ditto on the sharpening. Beautiful.

Lots to enjoy in this scene, Wayne. I'm on the fence about the dominant tree on the left as it seems to break up the natural flow of the image as it cuts across all of the layers.

This is just beautiful! The contrast between your two 'worlds' makes a stunning image and tells a great story. Very nicely done
