Harley, This is a very nice B&W image and I like the way you set this comp up. The darker bottom and lighter top split by the curved line works really nice. Good tones and wonderful detail throughout. Large version shows it much better!

This works really perfect as a B+W, and there are so many details that you just keep looking at the large version. The juxtaposition of the lighter background and the dark foreground with light plants is especially attractive.

This looks real nice, Harley. The details and tones are excellent. I really like the curve of the crater and the dark cinders against the light background and the fore ground creosote bushes.
Well done.

Wonderful black and white image. I love the way you composed the scene with darker bottom and the brighter top. Great tones and details throughout the image. The brighter plants in the foreground add so much to the scene here and make the image very attractive. Well done

Nice image Harley. It has a lunar sense about it. I've seen scenes like this at DV, usually with deep red soil, but sometimes (Uebehebe Crator) with black soil. Very engaging composition. This image calls for sharpness and the D810 provided it beautifully.

Hi Harley,
This image looks great in the large version, and the details are much easier to enjoy. I very much enjoy how this image was seen and captured. The foreground's dark soil and bright bushes create an engaging composition, and the tones look good through out the image. I am trying to think of something unique to say, but sometimes all i can say is very well seen and captured.

Really nice tonal play here, Harley. Love the light on the fore shrubs and thier shadows and of course the overall comp is spot on. Nice job.

harley - i really like the composition here & super textures. it is a bit grey to my eye and I wouldn't mind seeing some of the mid- to lighter greys being brought up just a touch .... nice eye and nice work, though.

I sure do like the different textures here, Harley, and I'm sure that your b&w treatment has emphasized them nicely. The details seen in the larger version add tremendously. I'm really enjoying the shift from dark ground to bright ground and how the dark foreground peaks in the center.

I think I know this spot, Harley, and every time I've been there the wind is absolutely howling! Perfect subject for a B+W treatment. I could see bumping up the contrast a bit more in the mid ranges. Very nice comp which draws the eye through to the BG.
