I found this vibrant Wild Rose growing next to a charred Ponderosa Pine. I really liked the vibrant green against the dark char, and the arc of the plant.

The tree appears to be still on fire!! The contrast between the dark charred bark and the slivers of unburnt bark makes it look like it is glowing - great eye!

Great palette and the juxtaposition of the live wild rose growing over the burnt Ponderosa works very nicely. Great find.

Beautiful, Preston. The tree alone is sweet and the wild rose is a real topper, with the vibrant greens against the charred black. No nits here. Real nice!

An image of great visual charm. Also, the play between the blooming of the fresh leaves and the exhausted, charred bark is so suggestive of the return of life out of decay and death. I like this a lot !!!

Yes, vibrant is the right word! Very nice, I am a sucker for burned tree patterns, and the small pieces of brown under the charred parts together with the plant add some nice details.

Preston, This looks really nice. Like you, I like the contrast between the burned bark and the green of the wild rose plant. The comp looks very nice and the details and textures are wonderful. Nice work on this!

What a great find, Preston. The tree still appears to be on fire in those couple of sections where the charred bark has separated and exposed the interior. Great details and textures and I like the juxtaposition of the green wild rose against the burnt bark of the pine.

Lovely, simple comp and a wonderful example of how much detail you can get from "black." Good processing to make the bright greens as well as the blacks to retain all their detail and realistic tonal balance.

One of your best closeups for me, Preston.
So much texture to the Pine!
I sort of wish the plant ended in the frame for comp sake.

I knew this was yours soon as I saw it. You have a way with charred trees and finding the colors in them. The rose stem is a wonderful accent for this one. Very nice!
