Got up early, got there roughly on time, with the moon lighting the foreground. The start of a great morning (see earlier posts  ).

Nikon D610, 18-35 AF-S, single exposure of roughly 30 min.

Comments much appreciated!

While I am not a huge fan of star trail photo's, this one is very nice.
A nice amount of stars, nice light on the foreground, and attractive realistic sky color.

Nice take on the standard Manly photo, Basil. Amazing that there wasn't any air traffic out of LAX thru your shot during those 30 minutes!
I like the natural, moonlit feel of the photo.

The moonlight feels very natural, especially on the badlands. I think that the star trails work fine, for a different Zabriskie Point shot. :toast:

Beautiful long exposure. Nice to see someone else rather than myself still doing long single exposures. The soft moonlight is perfect for this scene.

Manley Beacon in the moonlight--lovely. You have some nice detail and textures along with the sky. Well done, Basil!

Hi Basil,

This image is very well seen and captured. The star trails captured makes for such a dynamic image, and the colors and textures of the fg are wonderful. A real beauty to enjoy, and images like this one make me want to experiment in night time and long exposure photography.

Well done!!!
