Love the pose and the delicate perch. Excellent job handling the exposure of the red feathers. A beautiful shot Patrick!

The BG lets the bird stand out well in this image. Good detail throughout the flycatcher. The perch does not distract from the bird. Well taken. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful colors and great detail, especially considering that the subject must be quite small! :toast:

A striking image. You really nailed the detail on this one. I like the slight head turn and the clean background lets the bird shine. Well done. :toast:

Patrick:

Very nice bird with a nice view and look from the bird. I find reds to be particularly challenging with digital sensors. This image shows the issue. While I can see feather detail in the chest, there is very little, if any on the top of the head. I'm guessing the red channel is either blown or close to it. You might be able to recover some of the reds from the RAW image by bringing down the luminance and/or saturation of the reds. It does not look like a sharpness issue

Patrick: I'm a big fan of poses like this that really highlight the bird. There is elegance in the simplicity of the scene. There's one nit, which is the reds are blown on the top of the bird's head. Easily correctable and it's a wall hanger. Richard

Nice shot of a great looking bird but I agree with the previous two comments. A repost desaturating the reds to try to get more feather detail in the head would be nice. Other than that it is very good.

Patrick, just a beautiful capture of this Flycatcher. Detail in the feathers is great. I would try adjusting the red sats down just a little to see how that works. Sweet shot! :toast:

Nice image, Patrick.
The bird is beautiful, and has a nice pose, on a nice perch.
