Texas Coyote

I found this big male coyote at the Fort Worth Nature Center. I have seen coyotes there before, but this was the first time I managed to capture an image. This big male was with a smaller female at the edge of the lake. I only managed one shot of this guy before he took off. The female hung around a while longer. Comments and critiques welcome.

Doesn't look like you lost anything by engaging the TC on your lens. What a joy. Nice that you finally got a pic of a coyote. He's given you a good look and you've captured him well. I think I would try to draw out some detail on the shadow side of his body. Sort of looks like a black hole. And get rid of the piece of veg there while you're at it. Might be better without the water but I'd play with it first before committing. Thanks for sharing this.

Light angle worked great to give a good view of the eyes. Congrats on getting the one click! I like the blues of the water and I agree with trying to recover some of the shadow detail.

Hi I like including the water because it's not something you see in a coyote photo. I think you should try to fix the shadows on the side. Really nice eye contact!

Thanks for all the comments. I recovered a bit of the detail in the dark area. However, the sun was extremely low and the shadow was very deep.
