Young Raccoon + Repost

This guy and 4 siblings were having a grand time moving in and out of this water body searching for food. Missed a lot of photo opportunities due to vegetation blocking the view. This was one of only a few that came out okay. Never did see their mother.

Jim,
I have never seen a Racoon, so perhaps I should not be the person to comment on the colour, but I do think there is a strong magenta cast.

I agree, there is a magenta cast on the raccoon. Good image of the raccoon searching for food. Glad you were able to get a view without the vegetation in the way. Thanks for sharing.

Love the racoon's face reflected in the water. Very nice shot; I agree about the color.

Hi Jim,

Very cute subject and while much of the surrounding environment in the shot isn't super appealing visually, I do really like that you caught it on the water's edge and you caught the reflection of the head. Ditto on the magenta cast - seems quite strong on my monitor. I'm not sure how much (or from where) this image is cropped, but on the personal preference front, I'd say if you have more foreground I'd include at least some of it (to complete the reflection of the head). Part of that comment comes from my own lack of love for square crops! But...obviously purely personal preference on that...

Cheers...

Brad

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. I have a lot of difficulty distinguishing some colors (I am red-green colorblind), and really didn't see the magenta. I am hoping this repost takes care of this problem. I also re-cropped it based on Brad's comments, so the full reflection of the raccoon's face is there. Please let me know if this is an improvement.
