Martin's post inspired me to trawl through my images of this bird, here is one flying over one of the many inlets in Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe.

Impressive! I think this is the first in flight photo I have seen of this heron. Great stopping of the action. Fine color and details. Like the BG sets the heron off very well. I have only seen one in a zoo, thanks for sharing.
