Quiet Stream

I made this picture 3 weeks ago while I was in Governor Dodge State Park here in south west Wisconsin. We had a light rain coming down and it was a fun time to be in the park. This is just a small stream that runs out of one of the lakes and I wanted to make a picture here if I could. It was quite hard coming up with a comp that I thought captured this stream but this one seemed to do that for me. I know it is busy and maybe it won't work for most but I'm interested to find out how you feel about it. Thanks so much for all of your comments on my last post as well.
Larger version included.
5D3, 24mm, ISO 200, F/14, 1/5 sec. CPL.

I find these types of shots difficult but this is very nice Nick. The water flows through nicely and some beautiful colors. Vry nice details in the large version also. Great job on this Nick as always.

Beautiful intimate fall scene, Nick. I think you made great sense out of the chaos. Nice work. :toast:

Nick, this looks like it was a real challenge to pull off, but this works very well for my tastes. For such a busy composition it does not look or feel chaotic to me at all. The overall exposure latitude and colorful foliage just adds to the viewing pleasure. I like it a lot......

It's a little busy in the smaller version, Nick, but lots of nice elements that are well displayed in the larger view. I like the the s-curve in the creek, the nice variety of colors, and the well balanced comp. Very nice.

An exciting palette of colour that I think makes good sense of an otherwise busy scene. I like it and it feels cohesive enough to me.

This is fantastic, Nick, one of my favs of your recent stuff. It feels like I can walk right into it, which is the mark of a great photo IMO. :toast:

It feels wild Nick but still enough structural pattern and colors to make the image interesting to me. Very nice work.

Works beautifully for me, Nick. The diagonal flow of the stream draws me into the scene rather nicely and the warm fall colors are outstanding.

I like this little scene, Nick. While it is somewhat busy perhaps I think it works well. I like how the color creates a nice archway over the creek. Very nicely seen and captured. :toast:

Nick,

This image is beautifully seen and captured, and you constructed an image with so many beautiful elements. It really does feel like I am in this image with you, great capture!! :toast:

Thanks so much guys! I really appreciate your thoughts on it. I wasn't sure if many others would care for this but I seemed to be enjoying it so thought I would post it. I just finished printing a 16x24 print to see how it looked on paper and I think I will go ahead with the framing to finish it off. I will let it hang in my studio for awhile anyways. Cheers, Nick

Nick, this is a beautiful small scene. It looks like one of those spots that is very nice to walk along and look at, but not so easy to compose an image. I think you did real well managing the chaos with his comp.
