Good day y'all,

I made this image about 5 years ago with my canon rebel xti, and I never have shared it with that many. I am not sure why, but I hope y'all like it.

It was a very windy day, and I did not like what I was capturing normally, so I decided to try a different approach. I remembered reading about moving the camera very slowly up and down to create a unique effect, and I think I accomplished that with this capture.

I do not have the technical details, at work, but can post that later.

Thanks for looking, and I included the non moving version of this scene for comparison.

thanks for the time

I like this image. It looks like a painting work. Great color mix too.

I like it, Ryan. Never tried it, at least not on purpose, but it's a very appealing effect. The dark brown of the trunks and the gold work really well.

Hi Ryan, This worked great! I like the movement effect very much here. Your comp, the light and color also added a lot.

Sweet! Great thinking outside the box, Ryan. The color combination works beautifully, very painterly IMO.

Makes a really nice abstract, Ryan. That golden color is just perfect. I haven't tried this method, but looks like fun.

Wow, this is gorgeous, Ryan! Excellent vision to see beyond the literal beauty of the scene, and create an less literal, but more exciting work of art.

Love those lines and the subtle details in the background, best seen in the larger image. Wonderful glowing light. The still version is quite nice as well. Excellent work.

nicely done. I might try to lighten the trunks ever so slightly.

I like the effect and find this version much more interesting than the original. You made the best of your situation. I initially thought it was a water reflection. Just enough detail in the trees that I know they are trees.

Well done, Ryan. The contrast between the tree trunks and gold background seems just right. I'll head over the the Mississippi River this morning to look for eagles, swans, and ducks, and may try this technique if I find a stand of trees that looks appropriate.
