In Suspension

Feel free to move this Landscape if more appropriate, though some of the Landscape images seem to be more appropriate for Macro. While not a frequent contributor to this Gallery, this shot struck me as appropriate.

A tight view of ice encased rocks along the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park. I was torn with spending time on this type of shot vs. the more grander vista. I took this before sunrise, then moved to the grand view as the sun rose. The ice melted quickly after the sun rose, so I was glad to find this when I did.

Wow, there's a lot of detail in this image. Almost a monochrome as well. I guess this would have to be an abstract as I'm not detecting a subject. My eye just wanders around. That isn't a bad thing as there's is a lot to see. I'm really fascinated by the shapes and detail in the ice. Nicely seen.

The ice structures here are great, Harry, and they coordinate well with the rocks. Well seen.

Very nice abstract! I like to see images like this, as they definitely show there is more than one way (i.e., fixating on a single subject, with no distractions) to command attention to a photo. This is a feast for the eyes, and I like it very much! :toast:

Beautiful shot Harry, so much detail to explore and I think you composition is perfect. My favorite aspect is the ice patterns over the rocks themselves. Very well seen.

Spectacular shot again Harry, and congrats on the EPA win. To me, it doesn't get any better than making a beautiful image of something most photographers wouldn't have even noticed.
