Maidenhair Fern

I am always attracted to the interesting shape and seemingly transparent leaves of these maidenhair ferns. A high-key approach seemed appropriate to show that.

Nikon D800 1/4 sec @ f/16

Thanks as always for taking a look and for your comments.

This is great, Sanjay. The high key approach works very well and you've got a fine distribution of fern leaflets arching nicely through the frame.

Beautiful work Sanjay. Love the high key and the composition. I've never made a successful high key image. I admire this very much.

Sanjay - Impressive high key. I have received two of my continuous lights with Octabox and should be able to try some of these high key effects in the winter months.

Sweet, sweet, sweet! Not to quibble, but this is Southern Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum capillus-veneris) as opposed to Northern Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum pedatum), which is much more fern-like. Doesn't take away from the beauty and artistry of this image, though. :toast: :toast:
