Blue (Dusky) Grouse

This was the first displaying grouse I'd ever seen, many years ago in Yellowstone. I've seen plenty of these guys since then, but I don't think I've ever found another that was this cooperative. It was perched on this log right next to the road, so it was pretty easy to set up and watch it put on a show.

He teed up perfectly for you Max, great head turn, nice bg etc. I have never been able to get close to one of these while they are displaying.
