woods on fire

This is another attempt to go "outside the box" and to convey in a personal way what I felt standing in front of a flaming fall woods (in Cansiglio, north eastern Italy).
Due to the high contrast between the luminous sky and the dark trees in the shadow, the colors of this specific shot were nothing special, so I desaturated them completely in p.p. to greyscale.
Despite the absence of colors, I tried to convey the "flaming feeling" with a sinuous vertical movement able to mix the "scratches" due to the leaves over the dark areas of the trunks.
I put the grey frame around the image only as a separation from the white of the page.
Comments, critics and suggestione are welcome.

Eos 5D MkII, 90mm, f/16, 0.3 sec, ISO 50
PP: conversion to greyscale and slight contrast with curves

I really like your stuff. The wave-like effect is particularly interesting. Perhaps it would fit the photo art gallery better?

This is so cool, Ricardo. It does look like flames. I really like this and great thinking outside the box.

I like the concept, here, Riccardo. I think the very brightest areas need some detail.

I have done some abstracts before, but this one just doesn't grab me.

Very abstract! Interesting to hear the story behind the creation. This isn't my favorite type of shot, but I find it quite artistic.

I like to see an artist creatively expressing his or herself.. and I think you have come away with moody artistic capture Riccardo.
