Comments appreciated. Thanks.

Very nice Catherine, beautiful color, composition and floe, nothing prettier than an autumn stream, I also like the mood. Very nice indeed.

Very nice fall scene with some nice colors Catherine. Would have been nice to have the whole rock but no biggie. You have some steady hands to hand hold 1/10 sec. Great job on this.

Nicely seen and presented, Catherine. I like the layered effect of the rock, stream and trees. It's a lovely scene.

Catherine, this is a wonderful autumn color scene. With aging eyes I always like the larger versions posted too. Easier to check finer details and overall processing if your looking for that kind of input.
I think the only thing I'd like to have seen differently was to include the whole larger boulder in the FG. Just a thought on that item, but not a deal breaker at all. The water, colors, and the rest of the composition alone make this work as a very fine scene overall.

Pretty fall scene. As others said, would have been nice to have the whole rock, but not an image breaker. Nice solid image.

Nice autumn scene. I would rather not have the rock but you can't help it sometimes.

The fall colors really make this scene pop and I like your SS choice, Catherine. This is certainly not a deal breaker, but I too wish you had included the whole rock. Either way this is nicely done. I sure do wish I could handhold at 1/10 of a sec.

Catherine,

I really enjoy the flow of layers in this image. The water, rocks, and popping colors really bring this scene together beautifully.

A very well composed autumn scene, Catherine. I like the SS and comp with or without the full FG rock and the bright yellow leaf in the middle of it.

Catherine: Interesting divergent points of view on the rock. I would actually like less of it as I think it competes with the fall colors which I find the most attractive part of the scene. I envy your proximity to such a lovely place. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Yeah…, the clipped boulder… Clipping things in the frame is one of my incurable vices. I worked hard on it this summer for flowers and did better, I think. But with the excitement of the new season, I immediately reverted. Sigh. You remind me to be more diligent!
@ Bill and Ed on the hand-holding at 1/10: I was probably braced against a boulder. That said, Nikon's 70-200/2.8 VR II lens has incredible image stabilization capability- 2 settings, normal and active. In most situations without a tripod I have it set to active. It definitely helps one to get shots that otherwise might get away. The ergonomics of the new D750 makes any lens combination feel nicely balanced. I'm very impressed with its handling so far, though I've had it but a short time.

I don't have anything new to add, but couldn't resist commenting on the handheld...wow! Seriously, I get some crazy camera motion abstracts at 1/10! :)

Beautiful scene...the multiple greens and yellows and the red give the woods a nice depth.

A nice clean and smooth shot. The water looks great. You probably could have gotten away with a much bigger aperture and still kept everything in focus with a faster shutter speed.

Very nice Autumn scene, Catherine. The color and tones look spot-on to me. I'm on the fence as to whether or not to show entire foreground boulder, because the tree on the right helps to anchor that side of the image.

Well done!

Catherine, What a wonderful fall scene. The colors are great and I especially like the looks of water. You have already talked about the boulder being cut off so I'll leave that alone. I like the feel of this very much.
