While exploring some of the upper reaches of Emigrant Creek, I was attracted to the rock colors being reflected in this 3-4 foot high falls and the splashing action at the bottom of the falls. (5D3, 24-70 f2.8 @ 64mm, f/16, 0.6s, iso 100, tripod and polarizer)

I love this one Mark. Beautiful light and the water is treated perfectly for my tastes. Gorgeous... No suggestions.

This is exquisite, Mark. I love the water spray in this scene; particularly that arc of water drops in the middle LR. This is a great find.

WOW, the larger version on this one the light is really making things glow, Mark. This was an excellent find.

particularly that arc of water drops in the middle LR.

I saw the little tracer before I read Ed's comment here. I was not sure if I really saw that at first. How neat a catch that is !!...

Mark, beautiful light, color and flow, also like the way you composed this, love getting out on the streams this time of year, unfortunately, all the streams around me are bone dry. Beautiful work.

Ahh, Mark! Fabulous color and lighting and action in the falls. Bit of a white-out in the llc, though, but overall, very pleasing to view. Do you think cropping it to square-ish would be too claustrophobic for the falls?

Beautiful warm glow to this and well composed. I like the shutter speed for the water. I'm trying to understand what caused the stroboscopic effect on the arc of that one drop. And there is one other.

Really nice detail in the water in the large version Mark and nice spray at the bottom of the falls. Small nit would be to darken the bright areas TL just a touch. Really nice falls close up though. Very well done.

Thanks, all.

Ron, the strobe effect on flying drops has just been discussed in the Gear Forum, see the post by Phillip Noll.

Mark- I was happily believing possible cause 1, but you conclude cause 2 to be more likely. I don't understand how the angle varies so rapidly (nor even exactly what that angle is). The highly-reflective portion of the variation cycle seems to occur over only a small fraction of it, nearly a delta function.

Nicely captured Mark. Perfect shutter speed IMHO, but i do wish there was a little more at the bottom of the frame.

this is all about water. Lovely. I would crop a wee bit on the right and burn the top right corner.

Mark,

A very dynamic intimate capture, and the colors and contrast are sweet. The water looks beautiful with the selections of the shutter speed. Very nicely seen and captured.

Excellent. Fine shutter speed on the water and great water jets. This turned out quite well.

Great intimate fall scene, Mark. I particularly like the water texture - especially the splash back in the bottom. The overall light on the red earth and water is wonderful too. :toast:
