Grand Aspens

I made it up to the Grand Mesa two weeks ago and it lived up to the name. I was ecstatic to see so much vibrant, widespread color up there. The day started out bright and sunny, but a storm front made its way in during the afternoon, providing a lot of diffused lighting deep in the groves. I thought the diffuse lighting worked very well with this image.

Gorgeous... Love the color, the comp and the textures. No suggestions.

Great aspen image, Angela. I too love the depth and very natural appearance. Looks to be 100s of comps in there.

The subdued light shows off the details and textures in this aspen grove perfectly, Angela. Beautifully done.

Lovely, subdued color and great depth, here, Angela. This is the kind of light I love for Autumn color images.

Nicely done!

Looks like a great stand of aspens, Angela. That one curvaceous trunk makes a fine addition. The other trunks are well placed and add some fine depth. Very well done.

Superb! I feel like I am there amidst these glorious trees. What a great site you found. I agree that the more muted light makes for a great effect here.

Beautifully composed Angela, and a stunning scene. It may just be my uncalibrated work computer, but I might boost the contrast a bit in Curves (brighten the boles while darkening the midtones just a touch). Like I said though, it might just be my computer - I'll look when I get home on my good monitor. Killer shot though.
