The sunrises during our stay in Montana have been filled with colors such that, if I hadn't been here watching I'd have thought that the saturation had been pushed too hard. I'm still having a hard time believing the colors in this image even with the red, yellow, and magenta saturations dialed back by 20 points each (in LR). This was sunrise last Friday and I had Doug's challenge in mind when I zoomed in on the small section of a 180 degree glow. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 @ 125mm, f/10, 1/8s, iso 200, tripod & 2 sec timer)

Gorgeous image Mark, the grey clouds work as great background to the pink clouds. The color variation is quite nice with the more intense color in the middle kind of drawing you in. :toast:

Perfect timing for the light Mark! We get colours like this periodically. They seem to be most brilliant when the days are shorter and the nights are cooler. Thanks for sharing :toast: :toast:
