Long Day

Hi everyone! This is another image of my favourite red fox vixen.

I shared her story here, so will just say I captured this image by patiently waiting with my eye to the viewfinder and finger on the shutter release waiting for her to do SOMETHING after she curled up for an afternoon nap. I'm glad I stayed focused on her, which was VERY hard to do with her adorable kits playing just 20ft away behind me, as I love the feel of this one and the detail in those chompers of hers (as well as her AWESOME whiskers!).

Hope you enjoy as well! Happy to hear suggestions for improvement or otherwise!

Nikon D600
Nikkor AF-S 500mm f/4 IF-ED
ISO 800
1/800sec @ f/5.6
-0.3EV
tripod mounted

Processing Notes:
Converted from RAW using Phase One Capture One Pro 7
Minor adjustments to tone and contrast using Nik Color Efex Pro 4 and Viveza in PS5
Approximately 90% of full frame

Great shot. You got him in the middle of a good behavior. The color and detail are great.

Animals yawning nearly always result in a great capture of the moment. This one definitely does, great detail and pose :toast: :toast:

Hi I like how soft and real it looks not over sharpened or over processed but just like I can pet the fox. Amazing!

Thank you for all the kind words! This was definitely a special occasion with a beautiful subject...I'm glad at least some part of that seems to have been captured/conveyed here well enough to be appreciated. Thanks again!
