Missing Daisy

Daisy was faithful & true, our devoted & courageous companion for 13 years. We rescued her from from an abusive home at two years old. Then she survived a copperhead bite (but lost an eye), a true survivor.
Wonderful Mom, (she had one litter with us). Survived by Boo-Boo, one of four off-spring that’s still with us. Of all the dogs I’ve known, she had that something special in her character that’s hard to define.
We let her go July 16th due to complications from CHF.

A very remarkable & even tempered loving dog, we sure miss her.

Howard, this image sure shows fine intelligence and sparkly personality. I also like the "glamor" background with the oof highlights. Someone to miss greatly.

I recognized your baby from your facebook page. Love the understated treatment, which draws you in to see the detail of her face and the curves of her fur on her neck, which frames her head. The oof background bokeh really accentuates the effect! :toast:

Howard, I recall a post sometime back now with this photo of Daisy. She has a very smart look here and I'm sure she could back that look up too.
I can truly relate to your loss. Although we've had several pets over the years that were always near and dear to our hearts, however, our stray cat "The Chin" was truly special to us. He too has passed on and we miss him so very much. :frown:

An excellent portrait of a great looking little dog, Howard! I like the sepia tones, it makes it timeless. The great thing about photography and pets is that you have an excellent means of keeping those memories fresh and real. Sometimes the recall can be a little painful but it quickly develops into a smile and a warm feeling as the good memories come flooding back.

Beautiful photo of Daisy. Sorry to hear of you losing her.

It is tough to lose them. I lost one of my labs 4 years (at a ripe old age) and I still sorely miss that dog. She was an absolute gem of a dog. They become close family and it is really tough. My condolences.
