Ablaze with Color, Pinkham Notch, NH

Amazing color in the White Mountains, NH this year with a lot of red, orange and yellow. Back lit leaves at Pinkham Notch taken on 9/30/14. I would say it was pretty close to peak if not at it. Visited again this weekend and the color was definitely on the decline (the reds were mostly gone). The changing weather and light conditions also helped accentuate the glorious autumn colors in this image. My favorite time of year for sure.

Gorgeous array of colors and nice layers Eva. Crystal clear as well. A real sense of depth in this one. I like it very much as posted. No suggestions.

I am amazed with the similarity of fall scenery between this and the Smokies. I noticed the soft focus of the background trees on the first hill. Leaving the blazing Maple as the primary in-focus subject. I assume that was deliberate?

Thanks Pat and Phil. Phil - I did intentionally leave the background slightly out of focus. Hope that works for you and others. Thanks.

Love the near to far comp and the rich color is sweet. We've just had our first cool weather of the season and this color is getting me anxious for fall.

Eva-I'm enjoying your series of fall images from NH. Really makes me homesick for Maine. I think this one was my favorite but several others were really close. Just love the color you got out of the landscape. Even though the birches don't add a lot of color their trunks are a part of just about any forested landscape in New England. Thanks for reviving my memories.

Pretty fall scene Eva, the colors are beautiful, also like your comp. The BG works fine putting all emphasis on the main focus point, the Birch.

Eva, I really like your composition as presented. This works perfectly for my tastes, and yes, it has a bit unique comp as you've placed the FG trees. I appreciate new looks like this.

Wow, Eva, those are some stunning colors. Love the comp. with the eye catching trunks and branches on the right and nice look into the distance on the left.
