Lightning show

This is an image taken two nights ago looking East from my home in Austin. The amazing lightning show lasted about an hour.
We got just a few drops of rain, but had a safe vantage point from my deck.

The yellow color on the low clouds is due to the street lights reflecting off them. The large white clouds are being lit by cloud to cloud lightning. Some streaks are visible in the shot.

Please see the large version.

Nikon D800 15 sec @ f/8 ISO 320.

Thanks for taking a look and for your comments.

An amazing show! The large image with the pinpoints of light does a better job of lending credulity to the action. :toast:

Glad I looked at the large image. I saw lots more streaks of lightning in the clouds. Wicked! Great shot. Glad you were safely under shelter-- makes it more fun to watch.
