The day was overcast and provided some nice even lighting so Mike and I decided to hike the trail along Jordon Pond Stream and see what we could find. It had rained the night before so the stream was full and moving along quite briskly.

Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

The contrast of the green foliage against the russet rocks is quite nice, and the composition is perfect. I prefer a little faster shutter speed on the water, but that's just me. I might move the white balance in the water a bit more neutral.

I like your perspective Ed, along with the color and heavy flow of the stream, it looks alot like the streams I frequent in my area, except for one thing, mine are pretty much dried up. Very nice indeed.

Simple and beautiful scene there, Ed. Might try a slightly faster shutter speed (for my tastes), just to show a little more texture in the flowing water.

Beautiful scene and image Ed. Superb composition, fine textures and the wonderful complements between the greenery, rocks and water. For my tastes the water is perfect to convey the mood that I like so well here.

Beautiful stream, and the greens around it look perfect, Ed. If it were mine i might play with a slight crop off the bottom, maybe up to the last rock on the left, just to reduce the amount of white on the bottom of the frame. Really nicely done as is. :toast:

Thanks for your thoughts, guys. Here is a repost with your suggestions. I was a little concerned about the SS being to slow because the water was really moving because of the rain the night before. Next time I'll try an ISO of 1200 or 1600 instead of 800.

What a really pretty and lush scene. I was thinking about a bottom crop, then worked my way down to your repost and that nails it for me. Very well done, Ed.

Ed, this is a great scene and the comp works well. I think you could keep the nice subdued/darker feel but give it a slight "pop" by darkening mid tones slightly, increasing mid tone contrast, and bumping highlights just a touch. Just a possibility I'd experiment with, but it's a very nice image as is.

This a very nice, Ed. I like the lush greenery and the reddish rock. Not sure I'd increase the overall contrast too much, but you might look at trying for more contrast in the water to bring out more detail. The softer look of the water works fine for me, and I like the crop in the re-post.

Love the cascade here, Ed. The crop change works perfectly. I would seriously boost the contrast just a bit in the water too as mentioned. Obviously if it starts to blow things out or look odd you back down, but it might be worth a try. Regardless, looks wonderful as is also.

This is great, Ed. I especially like the textures that you've held in the stream with your ss choice. The repost is a fine improvement.
