Lilly and friend

Nikon D700 F10 1/100 ISO 200 Nikon 70-200

Working on a few images for a flora photo contest. Does this work ? I tried to put the Lilly and the turtle in the sweet spots. The turtle makes it stronger than just the Lilly and the surrounding pads alone while still keeping it a flora image (IMO).

Andrew - Looks nice to me, even though the dual points of interest are equally competing for the attention. I am sure viewership would really like this one.

I find the Lily slightly out of focus so a moderate sized print may work better than an uber large one,

Andrew, I like this. I believe I would clean up the few spots on the pads in the UL and URC and maybe try a little extra sharpening on the back petals of the lily.

I think it sort of works Andrew. To me it feels a bit like it is a fauna shot trying to be floral or a floral shot trying to be fauna - but I think it depends who your judges and audience are. I can see the general public liking it more than photogs trying to judge/critique it.

I like this a lot. The turtle is a really nice addiion to this image. I think it would have been even better if the turtle was looking at the water lily instead of away from it, but it's a very nice image as is.
