This is perhaps my favorite image from my June Redwoods trip. Taken along the Damnation Creek Trail. Thanks for looking...

Yeah this is great Joe. The differing light from top to bottom express a unique sense of depth that I really like. Nice capture and processing. :toast:

Agree this shows what is amazing about these trees…so tall…so massive. Nice fog!

Nice perspective, here, Joe. The fog looks to have a slightly yellow tinge. I like the composition.

Thanks everyone. Preston, the slight yellow cast is probably due to the sun trying to break through. I actually tried a cooler version, but it didn't display that wonderful luminous glow nearly as well.

I can see why this was your favorite image from your trip, Joe. The mood with the fog is spectacular and I like your POV. This is being super picky, but I find myself wishing that lone dead tree; poking in from the lower right side; was not there. Maybe clone it out. Either way this is a beauty.

Thanks Ed. I've thought about that myself, but I kind of liked it. I think it gives the image a little more balance.

I can see why...
Cool processing, almost sepia.
Great perspective and a perfect fog.

It's hard to come up with something different from this destination, but I think this stands out due to the quality of the light.

I think this is one of your best images, Joe! You really snagged a great perspective, in perfect atmospheric conditions, to convey the story of these masive trees. A great Pick-- congrats!

That's a beautiful image Joe! Love the comp and the mood. The fog really set the mood. And the detail, all the way to the top! Great job! Congrats on the well deserved WP!

Stunning image, Joe--and congrats on a very well-deserved WP! I totally agree with your reasoning in leaving the dead trunk in the original post, but can't disagree with those who have expressed a preference for the repost. I'm pretty torn but probably lean toward the repost. Either way, just a wonderful feel to this image...great job in the field and behind the computer.
