White tailed eagle

This shot was taken last month near Svolvaer, Lofoten, Norway, during a boat trip to a near fiord.

The eagle was pursued by some guls that were following the boat.
After a couple of full circles around the boat the eagle went down to the water to take a fish and then disappeared to the coast.

Little cropped for composition (we don't have more room at the top, unfortunately)

Large version provided.

Thank for your passage and comments.

Very nice action shot ! Great details ! A little more brightness on the eagle's under wing would be great. :wavey:

Hey D&L,
You sure took advantage of this opportunity, the large version has very nice detail in the Eagle and the action is good. I would try to get a bit more feather detail in the dark shadows under the wing and more canvas at the top can easily be added with the sky you have here.
Well done . . . :toast:

Sweet image, D&L. Excellent focus on both subjects. With the bg you have, it hsould be easy to add a touch of canvas to the top if you want to do so. Personally, I like it as posted.

Lovely interaction. I agree with the others on maybe lightening the underwing of the eagle to try nd recover some detail. I also agree about adding a bit of canvas to the top.

Thank you all for the comments and for the suggestions.
I will try to add some canvas at the top.
This side the light was not perfect. Luckly the eagle passed to the other side. And we were able to take a couple of shots also on that side.
More to come.

A beautiful, sharp, and perfectly exposed image. You have managed to get detail in the dark underside of the wing as well as avoid over exposing the white bird. Good timing. I like it as it is - wouldn't change anything except for maybe adding some canvas at the top.
