I found this nice grouping of Fremont Cottonwood leaves adjacent to McGee Creek in the Sierra.

Tachihara 4x5
180mm Fujinon
Fuji 160 Pro-S Color Negative
TK's Masks
October 2008 Recently Reworked

Color negative film is notoriously difficult to scan. So, obtaining the best color balance is often (always?) a challenge. I think this looks pretty good in those terms, but I would appreciate your thoughts. I did not make any changes to saturation; only to color balance and contrast.

Note: In IE 11 the reds and yellows are much more saturated than with FireFox. Therefore, I'd suggest viewing this in any browser other than IE.

Please see the larger version. Thanks!

Your comments are always appreciated.

Strong composition and a beautiful image overall. Nice complementary contrasts between the leaves and the stones and the opposite tones. I like this very much.

The color looks good to me on both my MacBook and my big Dell. I use a Chrome browser. I don't care much for IE in any version. (smile)

I really like the collection of leaves in the image and it places a good autumn spin and flavor to the scene. I'll pass on anything deeper with regard to color right now, I'm on eyes that were on the road at 0300 to J-tree again this morning.
I've always found fall colors with yellows and reds hard for me to work out on my own stuff, and that's transparency. Not sure I could get things this close using color neg. I do also use Firefox latest version all the time. It works best for my viewing for sure.

btw: I totally agree about your comment on my posted image.....thank you. I'll post an update tomorrow when I've collected better sight.

OK, I've got some eyes back this morning. I did update my image. I think the only item on your image I might change is maybe a bit opposite of mine. This is slightly intense by a hair. Colors look fine, just maybe a little too much yellow pop. Could be just me.

I like this little collection of cottonwood leaves, Preston. I usually use Firefox and the colors look great to me. The yellows in the leaves have a special luminance that is very appealling.

Preston, pretty scene with the feel of a warm autumn day. Very nice soft light, detail and composition, definitely carries a pleasant mood. As for the color, I'm also on Firefox and the colors look very natural, just what I would expect. Beautiful, love the intimate scenes.

Nice little intimate scene. I would considering pulling the reds way down on the rocks. Leaves look fine to me. Viewing on Firefox, btw. I would also think about pulling down the highs and upper mids on the upper right bright area.

This is a very nice intimate autumn scene, Preston. Looks like someone is getting ready for the fall season. I am on IE and the reds and yellows are a touch to saturated. I'll have to check out Firefox.

This is a fine collection of cottonwood leaves, Preston, just enough to fill the frame but not so many as to make it busy. Looks great on my iMac with Firefox.

Preston, I do like the rework with the less red. I still might drop the gamma a point or two to see what it looks like, but that might be just my monitor. I usually have to do a bit of tweaking between exposure-offset-gamma, lower one raise the other type of thing on certain images........
