Medusa Waterlily ?

I am not sure if this is a variety of Waterlily or if its a regular variety on its path to decomposition. I do not recall seeing this variety before.

I took 4 to 5 photos and stacked them for a decent in focus feeling. The difficulty was managing the camera+tripod and my head between the railings at the Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Waterlily and let me know what you think of this one.

Ram, you should stick your head between the railings more often. This is gorgeous! The complementary colors, the sense of motion in the petals and the color gradient from cool to warm to yellow is high class eye candy! Just excellent! :toast:

Ahh…this is art…fine art! I have never seen such a water lily. The luminosity, shadows giving each petal separation and depth… and colors are magnificent. Transitioning from buttery yellow to dusty purple is excellent… What a creature you’ve captured! Congrats!

Ram:

Fabulous waterlily. :toast:

Not seen this variety before. Love the dance of the petals. Looks too good to be decomposing

Gorgeous colors and comp! Glad you didn't get stuck between the railings! This would have been too good to miss!

Outstanding image, Ram. Definately a variety of waterlily, although I can't recall the name. Reminded me of some kind of sea anemone.
