This is from a recent trip to Factory Butte. I had photographed these boulders along with others from a distance earlier this year and thought they could make and interesting morning subject. Busted butt to get out there in the dark and actually liked the boulders better from a distance. It was hard to get any perspective from up close. I dinked around for an hour or so until I came upon this particular shot. These two boulders are probably eight feet in diameter and I found it amazing that they made it this far from the butte and their final resting place.

It has a cartoonish look to it, but in a nice way.
The rocks look totally out of place!
Nice find and great imaging....

The larger version is stunning and a really different spin on the butte area of Utah, although the terrain in the scene is a give away and unmistakable to me. One of your best from this area IMO, maybe at the top of your best overall list. Very nice.
As a side note; I looked up Ivins in relationship to the butte area, that's a bit of a hike from where you live. I got a buddy up in Koosharem I visit as often as possible, as well as Guy Tal living near there in Torrey too....

Perfect time of day/light to get some nice soft shadows giving a distinct 3D look Gary.
