Another fine combination of colors in the perch and the background. For some reason this bee felt just a bit soft so I went back to your earlier post and I think it's because the silhouetted hair above the eyes here is soft and while the eye may be sharp it's harder to tell because the eye is dark.

Purple and yellow are very complementary. The bee is sharp, but the head looks a little soft.

Excellent combination of elements and colors, Ian, and the bee is both perfectly positioned in the frame and well separated from the bg.

Love the colorful BG & verbena perch Ian, excellent comp.
Only suggestion would be to add a touch more selective sharpening for the web.
Well done! :toast:

Ian,
Very nice composition you have presented. The colors really pop with an interesting BG that sets off the Bee and Verbena so well. The softness in the Bee looks to be caused by noise reduction, I have the same situation with my 7D with ISO above 640 and excessive noise.
