Purple Finch

I was leafing through this years images for the weekly challenge and came across a nice session with this bird in late April. I posted one pose shortly after taking the images, but I also liked this one.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f8, 1/640, iso 500, pattern metering, aperture priority. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 12,4 of the original 16MP (mostly changing to a 4x5 format and taking a bit extra off the top. Taken April 24th at 7:53 am in the back yard.

Very nice Dennis. Great background. I like it a lot. My only nit is the little bit of green in the top left corner. Seems out of place and distracting but may only be me. Minor at worst. Good job.

Nice detail and pose. Sharp where it needs to be, except the feet are a little soft. Considering you were on a scant DOF at 500mm/2.0TC, hard to do.

And whats not to like? Sharp where it needs to be, nice color pallet, and an interesting perch. A really nice purple finch image.

I have always wanted to see one of these live...but no chance so far. Love the colors in this one Dennis. I do wish the get were sharp also, but can't have everything.
