Mono Lake Tufa

by Bob Miller

From my recent swing along the Eastern Sierras and up to Lassen Volcanic NP. I was sure to camp for one night near Mono Lake and was blessed with some pretty nice lavender sunset light.
2 second exposure @ f/22, Grad ND.

I guess you were blessed Bob. Strong comp as well as gorgeous color. Also that central cloud is very nice. No suggestions.

Nice composition and I really like the soft predawn light.

This is a very nice image from a place I know well, but have had less success with making photographs there. I like the color palette and the softness of the water. You might consider cloning out that small bit of cloud at the top of the center tufa tower. Very nice as presented, and this would make a nice print.

Thank You for the comments guys. After looking at the larger version here I see that there are a couple of dust spots that need attention. Godd advice on cloning the cloud on the tufa tower Preston. Richard it does indeed resemble pre-dawn but is in fact post-sunset.

The gentle colors in the sky and the scattered clouds are great, Bob. The foreground tufa is balanced nicely by the distant formation on the left.

Nice Bob,
Beautiful light and appealing comp.
I might warm up the FG ground rock formations for a bit more color variation.
