Pemaquid Light...

...but not the lighthouse. I found this great slab of rock so different than the surrounding rock that I had to shoot it. I didn't like the color version, BW worked much better for me. I would like to have used a slower shutter speed to blur the water some but only had a polarizer to reduce the SS. I took a number of exposures prior to sunrise but they were too flat; this shot is just after sunrise which gave the scene a little more detail and contrast. Your comments are always appreciated.

I really like the comp, Reno. It has a great tension to it, with the lines leading to the rock, then turning 90 degrees. Really well done.

The striated rock at Pemaquid Point can produce some excellent leading lines, Reno. The wave action is wonderful as are the range of tones in this B&W landscape. Really well done; much better than anything I got on my stop in June.

I really feel the power of the ocean in this image. Very good composition and it works very well in B&W.

Sweet B/W, Reno. I agree with Harley, about the tension created by the crazy slab. If it were mine , I might think about opening up the darkest shadows slightly. I think the texture is too good to be too dark. Nice job on this. :toast:

Real nice, Reno! I agree with Harley about the tension created between the block and the lines in the strata. The crashing waves add a lot to the drama. The large version is a must-see.

Nice contrast in that rock there. I'd love to see a much bigger wave crashing behind it, but we don't always get to choose when those happen  .

I like the BW composition.  The slab of rock adds mystery to the overall picture.  Nature at its best.  Thank you for sharing.
