Another shot from our most recent trip to Santa Clara Ranch in South Texas. This Roadrunner was drinking very close to the waterhole in front of the sunken blind.

Wonderful perspective and a very cool shot of this neat bird Nate. Techs are excellent as well.

Excellent. Great shot. But, what is the cylindrical item on the water's edge between the bird and the droplets?

Thanks Chuck and Jim. Jim it's an out of focus twig that had some specular highlights on it. I probably should have cloned it out.

What a cool shot Nate. I've never seen one of these but you nailed that sip of water. The only nit I have is that object that Jim mentioned. It's a bit of a distraction. Otherwise great background, great image. That sunken blind sounds really cool! :toast:

Nate, I've seen these at the Bosque but have never had the chance to shoot any. Pretty cool that you got so close, even in a blind.

Gorgeous portrait, Nate. I love the result of the sunken blind, and you caught just the right place in the drinking routine.

Nice looking frame with the water dripping and the solid eye contact. The techs and details look great too. I like the comp you chose too. Well done

That, is pretty incredible, Nate. I`m highly intrigued with the sunken blind, but the bottom line is it sure helped you deliver a memorable and attention-grabbing image. I`m slightly curious about this working even better as a horizontal, although there really is no nits as presented. Very cool.
