The local gardens has a new variety of coneflower with different colors on the same plant. This was taken after the morning after a rain shower. Battling the wind, but I liked the textured bg produced by greater dof. D600, 150 macro, f20, 1/40, iso 640, cpl (to reduce glare from the wet leaves), tripod. Comments, questions and suggestions welcome. :wavey:

Love the bold colour combinations, Scott, and the corner setting of the flower centre. Excellent dof and nice sharpness in the stamens.

Neat view of this cone flower hybrid, Scott. I like the focus on the flower center and the interesting blotches of color in the far background. A naturalist friend claims that a lot of these hybrids don't attract bees...

Scott - Fine center in the corner composition. I agree with you that the textured backgrounds managed well look more pleasing that all plain ones. Those tiny water drops/dew in the center also catch my interest.

We have plenty of these growing at the local gardens. I have to watch if Bees favor this flower or not but Butterflies sure do.

Very well composed Scott. The shiny center is very well captured and the background colors add a lot to the image. Well done!

Scott: Terrific POV and DOF/POF choice. The BG suits me really well. Good call on using the polarizer; an underutilized tool for flora images. Most excellent.>=))>
