Spider Lily

Another view of the Spider Lily from the March trip with Mark Seaver in the Ocala National Forest, Florida. This is one shot and has a better environmental BG and focal plane IMO. Hand held from boat, cropped to 16 : 9 ration Pano with full frame side to side. I was set-up for birds when Mark spotted these and did not make a lens change.

Excellent image Mike. The flowers are sharp and the background is informative but not intrusive. The pano crop also works well here. And all this without a tripod... wonderful!

Mike - Great take on the Spider Lily. Whites are just right for this Lily and I like the inclusion of the habitat.

Always great to see flowers in a natural habitat, especially unusual and striking ones like the spider lilies. Very nice, Mike.

Fine view of these flowers, way better than anything I got...guess I was in the wrong end of the boat.

The sharply focused flowers stand out beautifully against the natural background, and the flower whites are just right to my eye. I, too, like to see wild species in their natural setting. The cypress knee on the right is informative for the naturalist viewer. Ron

Mike: I like this one a lot. Just enough of the environment to set the scene and a fine DOF choice. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Works well. Only nit might be that the flowers are almost perfectly centered. An aesthetic choice but I'd love to see a slight asymmetry of background borders. Gorgeous flowers.
