I like the wing position on this one and the look of the Hummingbird just hanging under them like a helicopter. I also like the hint of purple reflection on the breast from the Monarda. I do wish I'd had a bit warmer light.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu gimbal on RRS legs, f8, 1/200, iso 400, -1/3 stop compensation, pattern metering, aperture priority. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 9.1MP of the original 16. Taken at 7:02 pm on July 5th under cloudy skies.

Comments and criticisms are appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Dennis: I like this as well. Nice pose. I do wish the hummer wasn't quite as deep in the flower. There also seems to be a bit of a magenta color cast. Most evident in the whites in the neck. I played with the larger version and used that neck as a white adjustment point. For me it helped. See what you think. Nicely captured.

To have captured this wing position is pretty amazing! Great that your HB's eye is clear. The purple is a bit overwhelming but the helicopter pose is strong enough to counteract it. If this were mine, I think I'd give my HB a bit more of pop.
