Minimalism Mirrored. Large boulder in Mirror Lake, Yosemite.

This one is an experiment, so I'd really appreciate your thoughts on whether or not it works for you.

Preston,

I like this a lot. Superb detail and processing but it's the self similar fractal-like arrows that provide most of the interest and energy in the image for me. That strong black arrow inside the lighter softer one is particularly eye catching. For my tastes, this is an extremely interesting composition. Mathematical and abstract but still very natural and appealing.

I like it too! So yes, it works for me. The arrows that Pat mentioned really do make this such an interesting image. I see a wild horse reaching for a drink of water! Very nice.

I like it too, Preston. Although the horse might be domestic as I see a halter leading across the face of it. No thoughts of change on my part, just a good solid abstract.

This strikes me as the classic "internet" dilemma, Preston. At first glance, it didn't grab me, but the longer I looked, the better I liked it. The light streak on the right grabs attention immediately, then I noticed the dark arrow and the sharp edge leading to the top. I also like how the reflection is nearly perfect, but includes some subtle ripple patterns and water motion effects. The larger version shows these off much better and I suspect that even larger would be even better. It's a neat image because it takes some study to appreciate.

Nice 50/50 split image Preston. I like the fact that the water doesn't have a perfect mirror image reflection. Well seen.

A very good abstract Preston. The dark and weathered granite makes for an interesting subject. I also see the Horse that Nick mentions

This one is fun, but for me a smaller, almost thumb version seems to allow the double M to work. Kind of like taking a step back from the image enables one to take it all in.

Another terrific abstract.
It looks like an oil painting.
Very well done.

Absolutely works for me, very nice detail and natural color, and I definitely like the way the slight ripple in the water breaks up the reflections. I find it very appealing, and I would also say your experiment worked out very well.

WOW, works great for me! I love this type of abstract. My only thought would be to crop 15-20% off the top to make it less centered and to put more focus on the reflection. Lovely.
