Animal Tracks

Another from the painted hills.
Some thought I should have cloned out the tracks in the first one.
Here, they are so numerous I thought they added to it.
This is pretty steep terrain, probably deer but I have no idea why they would climb around
on these lifeless hills.

200mm (70-200 vrii), f8, D800, 1/200 handheld.

Nice patterns and pastels Dan. I like the tracks. No suggestions. Based on this I would love to see this country at some point.

Dan, I continue to admire these painted hills images. The color is fascinating. The larger version is particularly engaging with the animal tracks. Very cool!

For me the animal tracks are secondary to the amazing variety of color here, Dan. Nicely done.

The colors and erosion patterns here are amazing, Dan. The track add some nice interest to an already great image.

Dan, I am really enjoying your unique takes on these hills. I might be tempted to pull some of the blue in the upper right corner. The color and shapes here really hold my attention. The large version is excellent. Nicely done!

Very cool layering of colors and I like the composition. Maybe a bump in clarity or contrast though to really show off the scale of this

These painted hills are awesome, Dan. To me the tracks provide some scale to this scene. Nice processing, great comp. No nits from me. Very, very, nice.

I think these track are more part of the image than the previous. Somehow they felt as though they were an overlooked corner of the shot where as these are clearly part of the landscape. Maybe they were looking for photographic compositions

The way the flow sweeps to the lower left is engaging Dan. The colors look very rich, but I think they lend to the abstract quality.

Nice take on the painted hills Dan, would have loved to get down that way while I was in Oregon this year, just didn't have the time...maybe next time!

Dan,

Great image. I am glad that I have checked the larger version, it takes me into the scene and it looks more 3 dimensional. I agree with Preston on the upper right blue color but it is great as it is. :toast:
