One of three in a series of images that I place among my best landscapes from 2013. I shot this on a private workshop last year at New Zealand's most iconic location, Milford Sound.

Love the sweeping aspect created by the water and clouds - reflected and actual. Are those stumps in the mid ground  wish they could some how be avoided in the comp but probably impossible. The dark shadows on the left seem a little too dominant for me, so I might reduce to the cloud bank. Also, a little halo on the right mnt. should be easy to fix. I missed this spot on my only trip to NZ, but your images from here really make me want to return. SO much to see there in such a relatively small geographic area. :toast:

Just an exceptional image. The moving water adds a lot of foreground interest especially with the low angle.I assume you were on land with the long exposure or standing in the water. :toast: :toast:

Beautiful image Kah. I really like the colors and the movement on the surface of the water. I can see why you consider this one of your best landscapes from 2013.

Amazing reflection scene for what appears to be swiftly moving water. Love the clearing clouds and just about everything else in this image. Killer :toast:

Great reflection image! What I find striking is the obvious water movement (streaks), but the clear reflection. A cool effect!
The shadows are indeed a bit heavy and dark, I would lighten them up just a tad.

Wow... The large version really does this justice. Love the streaking, and the low bands of clouds.

I can see why you place it so high on your list! I love images that pull off bright lighting; it's not easy to always do. The comp, swirling streaks, lovely blue, etc. Really nice.

The water looks like ice...
Terrific clarity and natural processing.
I like all of it.

I pretty much echo what others have said, however even though the dark shadows on the right are a little dominant, often lightening them decreases contrast to the point of washing them out. If that's the case here I'd leave it alone. The sharp contrasts and varying elements of the scene are a strong part of its appeal. Very strong composition. The halo at upper right is a bit of a problem but a great image regardless. :toast:

The reflection and the movement of the water is the star of the show, here. I do see the halo on the right. I like this a lot, Kah Kit.

Thanks for your feedback. My thoughts were initially that I liked the contrast between the light left and right dark. But after the comments about lightening the right shadows, I think it is an improvement.

I can see why you feel it's one of your best from last year. It has everything except a colorful sky, and it's no worse off for the absence of that element. Beautiful and dramatic.

Great shot Kah Kit. When I went there the Keas stole my butter from my tent and it rained the entire time, thought I was back in Glencoe. Nice to see it looking a darn sight more jolly. Great foreground, dark right side doesn't bother me at all.
