Nikon D7100, 18-200 @18mm, 1/200, f/7.1, ISO 400

Group of common dolphins, taken off Dana Point, CA earlier this week. This is a small part of a very large pod. As most photographers go for the out-of-water action, I know this is a bit unusual, and I am totally unsure about it. However, I liked having this group all together and I thought the water was really beautiful that day.

I like the dreamy quality and the color palette is nicely subdued. I might crop a bit off the right.

Sharron, this turned out pretty well given that you were shooting into the water. Nice colors and there are some cool patterns in the water. I agree with Ronald about the crop. Since the dolphins are center/left, you have some empty space on the right that could probably be removed.

Creative approach Sharron that worked really well in my opinion. The patterns in the water and dolphins make for a really interesting scene. Well done.

Nice feel to this image Sharron, I particularly like the semi-opacity of the water. I agree with the suggestion to crop a little from the right side. Not an easy photo to pull off, especially to capture this many dolphins in a single frame.

Beautiful. The dolphins are awesome and I like how the focus is on the top most one. The colors and reflections in the water are really cool as well

I like this very much, as posted. I understand how some think a slight crop off the right might improve it, but to my eye this is an artistic rendition, with rich soft color and the negative space on the right offers some different color depth. It gives me the feeling of an oriental print with a slight tension in the compositional balance. I suppose in an ideal world the tails and noses of top and bottom dolphins would be included and I don't know if that is really possible. If this is a crop with extra space I would add enough at the bottom to avoid clipping the tail of the "main" subject. The glimpse of eye and brighter treatment of the central dolphin is a fine touch. Thanks for sharing this moment! :toast:
