Anthropomorphic Alien?

I've been wandering through some of my older files from southern Utah, and ran across this 2011 image from Devil's Garden in Grand Staircase Escalante. Somewhere in a remote area I came across this old snag of unknown origin (juniper, maybe?), and thought it sort of fit the title. I thought it was interesting that there was a living thing thriving next to it. I shot only a single frame, and if I had the chance to do it again, I would add a bit of canvas at the bottom. Full frame, larger image included.

This makes me thirsty. I like the contrast between the hard smooth stone and the rough texture of the wood.

Interesting find. It does look like Juniper. I like the warm/cool color and the little bush adds a spot of life..

It looks like that shrub is its prey.

Intriguing abstract. Might bring out more warmth in the ground to contrast with the cool cast on the wood.
