Really like the way the light is hitting on this deer and the grasses around it. Taken about 7:30 pm.

I love photos of whitetaiuls when they are growing their antlers, Their color is so different during this period. The light appears to be a bit harsh from my perspective. I would suggest using shadow/highlights to rebalance the image bringing the highlights down and the shadows up a bit. Also, I think the image could use a slight CW rotation. Thanks for sharing.

That is sweet light, John. A nice look from the deer as well.

Hi John,

This is a pretty sweet shot - beautiful light, great (and very harmonious) colour palette, nicely positioned subject, and a great head-turn. While I very commonly share similar views to Jerry on a shot, on my monitor(s) the light doesn't look harsh or excessively contrasty to me - I quite like it. The colours do feel perhaps a bit "punchy" (over-saturated), but if the sun was low at the time (not sure when it sets where you're from...at 7:30 where I am it's pretty high in the sky right now!) and you're in the "golden hour", then perhaps the colours are just fine.

But overall - really nicely done!

Cheers...

Brad
