Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 1.4 TC, car window
f11, 1/1250, ISO2500

An Upland Sandpiper SE of Delta Junction, AK. The wolf whistle call of this shorebird has to be the most distinctive vocalization among North American birds. And always makes me smile.

Cropped to vertical. adjustments to levels and brightened, selective sharpening to bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

I've alway wanted to see one on a post like this and would be happy with a shot like this.

Nice shot, Jim. I'm seeing just a bit of noise in the bg, but it's very good for the iso you needed. I like the calling pose and the clean bg.

Like the background and falling rain drops -- bird is sharp and the open beak adds some interest -- nicely done

Nice image, Jim. All that's missing is the dance like Gene Kelly

I like the pose and the environment with the rain. I also see some noise and would run a round of NR on the BG
