John Day fossil beds, Sheep rock unit, Oregon.
The blue is that blue, called the Turtle Dove layer by the geologists.
This is a separate segment (about 40 miles away) from the more famous Painted Hills unit.
Not that many people go here.

Dan, I like how the small amount of dry wash was left in the view upfront here. Works as a good view point looking back into the scene. Excellent very natural high desert scene....

I'm really enjoying the natural look to the scene, very nice soft color, comp and detail. Beautiful work Dan.

Nice comp Dan and I like the muted colors and soft light. A stark scene but also very appealing. No suggestions on my part.

Very subdued look here, Dan. I like it, but wonder if a tad more pop would add to it. The large view looks good but that diagonal streak in the sky has such a contrail like look to it that I would think about removing it. My .02 anyway.

Interesting to see the a different John Day scene/unit, Dan. I like the subtle colors showing the geologic layers, and the comp is well balanced. I agree with Gary about removing the contrail. :wavey:

Dan, Looking at your large version made me feel like I could walk right into this scene. Nice job putting me right at this very cool place. I very much like the natural feel this has.

Extraordinary geography, Dan. The blue skies really compliment the blue in the landscape. This looks like a fascinating location and you have captured it very nicely!!

Very interesting colors! Nice comp as well. It's not very noticeable, but I wonder if you already corrected for the perspective distortion in post (not a big deal- at 16mm some distortion is to be expected).

Very nice colors and tones Dan and the fore ground leads in nicely to the scene. Very natural processing as well. Very nice job on this.
