Summer's been a long time coming up here in West Yellowstone this year, and it really just turned warm and nice on Monday. I haven't seen any cold-blooded critters on my hikes in the park yet until I came across this frog in a small mud puddle along Slough Creek. I've seen shots like this before (better ones too), but I tried everything and it's just the most interesting angle for a frog in a puddle.

I agree, a great shot, with the featureless surroundings.

Nice image, Chris. Love the minimalist comp with mostly just the eyes exposed. Although the puddle is muddy, the muddy brown works very nicely as a bg. While I like this image alot, I would have preferred more dof to get the entire head in focus. However, the eyes are sharp and that's what counts in this image. Well done. :toast:

I like the minimalist approach, plus getting the good reflection adds a lot. I'm having mixed feeling about it's position on the center line and wonder how a crop from the top would look.
