This Texas Solitary Bee's packin' the pollen, and not a gun..
Although most everyone in the great state of Texas does:wink:
F/9, 1/400th, ISO 800, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext. using ambient light around 11:00am in partial shade.

Nicely done with the focusing Howard. You do need to change your title to "She's Packin" ......................Jim

I thought it a great idea, just in deference to the opposite sex.

It is all in the stinger-- most female bees do have a sting apparatus. Females also gather pollen to feed their offspring and that is an analogous reference that answers your second question which is the hind legs and pollen baskets of course. ............Jim

Beautiful bee/flower shot, Howard. The bee is perfectly positioned and has excellent detail. I especially like the superb detail in the eye. The flower is a great perch that adds very nice color. No nits. :toast: :wavey:

That is indeed quite a pollen pouch, Howard. At first I thought it was a furry abdomen. Love the sharpness and structures showing in the eye.
