First Waterfall

Before I went to Oregon last may, I planned to shoot some waterfalls if the opportunity arose. I studied up on this site for some tips and came across Barr Creek waterfall on my way to Crater Lake. With some of the techniques I found on NPonline pertaining to shutter speeds, etc. I found a falls in partial sunlight whihc is a no-no but made the best of it in post processing . So, I bagged my first and only waterfall in less than ideal conditions and came away with something that pleased me.

The water looks good. The picture is overwhelmed by all the greenery.

Beautiful falls and good shutter speed (in my opinion). On my monitor the greens are a bit dark and that sun-lit yellow area is a bit bright. I might adjust those.

I've heard that Oregon has many great waterfalls Rick, and this is a good example; something that might be seen in a travel brochure. The shutter speed really captured the delicate nature of the falls well. All the greenery sets off the falls nicely, I think, and the vertical comp suits the subject. The sun-lit rocks add interest to the whole scene.

What a peaceful and majestic place to find Rick. The exposure is right on for the falls. The only place where the bright sun bothers my eyes is that one almost white patch at the bottom of the image, I'd almost be tempted to crop (or clone) it, while leaving the yellow rocks as they add a lot of interest. I also like that little ghost of a twin-fall over on the left.

That's quite a waterfall. The shutter speed look good, but I agree that dodging the greens would add nicely to this view. The golds at the bottom are a fascinating addition...it took me a while to realize that they were sunlight hitting moss covered rocks at the bottom.
