Got this pair of houses finches sitting on our backyard fence. The young one wanting to be fed. First time I have seen these birds with the young wanting food.

Neat catch on the youngster's begging action, John. In early spring, you can also see the females of this and many other bird species in the same begging position...presumably testing their mate's feeding ability.

Great capture of this behavior, John. Looks like the youngster has some type of larvae in it's mouth. . .but it's still pesting for more! Nice comp of the adult and young one.

Nice job catching this behavior, John. We have many finches and I have a hard time keeping the bird feeders full. They sure are fun to watch.
