Scattered Shower Starts

We watched this shower from the deck of our Montana house for about 30 minutes start to finish late one afternoon last month. At this point, early in the sequence, it looks like some of the rain falling from the cloud is reaching the ground. I posted a later view in M&N ( here) at that time. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 @ 80mm, 1/80s, f/14, iso 200, tripod and polarizer) Since this was taken from (not in) the yard maybe it doesn't fit the theme in which case, Carolyn can move it to M&N.

Man, I'm jealous. The view from my back yard is not near as spectacular as this. Nice capture.

Hey Mark - I consider the entire Foothills and Rockies to be my backyard  Spectacular view, but also good capture of the phenomena which feeds the expression "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes". Thanks for sharing

This is the view from your backyard?? Wow.... Really nice photo, I like the sense of scale in it. The tiny house in contrast with the mounatins and the huge shower.

Well now, some folks have a backyard, and then others really have a wide open backyard. What a gorgeous view from this POV, Mark.
I really like how the light is catching the virga so nicely in this scene.

Pretty darn nice backyard, Mark. Love the passing storm image, beautiful. I'm going to have to some digging, I might actually have something for this challenge.

The theme is "photos taken near or in one's backyard". Since this is NEAR your backyard, I guess this entry meets the criteria, Mark. What a wonderful scene to view! I really like the combination of some great colors in this image and the many elements of interest. The showers and blue sky combination is especially interesting.

Spectacular is the right word. Certainly not the view from my backyard. :frown:
